We built the biggest IRL brand in the world off one night a week. This is how we take the same mission, the same day and the same brand, and turn it into something ten times bigger — without giving up an inch of what already works.
Everything we've ever shipped comes from one belief: people are happier when they meet in person. Events were the first way we delivered that. They are not the last.
Our mission is to bring the world together, every Thursday. A global celebration of meeting in real life, connecting millions of people naturally.
One day a week. Urgency, intent, action, ritual. Aware events do happen on other days too however the day has been more powerful than we realise.
Events today. Hangouts and Discovery next. IRL everywhere after that.
The mission stays. The surface area grows.
What we’ve built in events is incredible. Events are notoriously local and hard to scale (most don't), yet we’ve built a global engine, a brand that travels and a world-class team making it happen. We've built the foundations for more.

We’ve built a brand that gives us permission to try almost anything in this space. Taking risks, moving fast and doing things differently is in our DNA. It got us here, and it’ll take us where we’re going next.

None of this is a criticism of Thursday, it's events in general. An event needs a venue, a date, a host and a ticket sold. Oh and META.
Part-time hosts
Our host network is part-time, so squeezing more events and drilling down deeper is tough.
One night.
A 3/4 hour window in certain neighbourhood caps the scale we need.
Competition
New players are entering the market by niching down and staying local. They may not be scaling, but they’re fragmenting the market and starting to eat into our position.
Ticket-only funnel
Right now, the main reason to open the app is to buy a ticket. Even with gamification, that leaves us heavily reliant on Meta to drive people back in. At £200K+ a month, Meta has effectively become our engagement engine.
The ceiling isn't demand or supply. It's how much of a city one night can hold.
So we widen the day.
Tinder owned the swipe. Bumble owned women-first. Hinge owned friends of friends. We own Thursday, a word every single person in 40 countries already associates with meeting someone. That's a brand asset you cannot buy or copy.
The day has been our golden bullet. Not the events.
One day a week is why our intent is higher than anyone's. Limiting consumption is the product, not a constraint. We proved it with events.
Now we bring the same behaviour to the app.
Same brand, same night, three levels of commitment. You pick the one that fits your week — and each one feeds the other two.
Events
The flagship. Ticketed nights, produced properly, city by city. The thing we're already the best in the world at.
Hangouts
A Hangout. Selected places become Thursday Hangouts — no ticket, no start time, no host. Walk in, the app activates, meet who's there.
Discovery
Plans on your profile. Activate for the day, match on what you actually want to do, and go on an activity-based date that Thursday.
Discover someone → decide what to do → meet on Thursday.
Try it live
Have a play. Remember to press skip to Thursday to fast-forward time.
Discover
Match, chat and make plans to meet that Thursday.
Hangouts
Recommended places for singles to hang out. The app activates when you arrive, letting you connect and meet others there in real time.
Events
Ticketed singles events designed to get people off dating apps and connecting IRL.

Thursday 2.0
A live, interactive walkthrough of what we're building.
This demo is for illustrative purposes only and does not represent the final product.
This is the piece that scales beautifully. Every Thursday, thousands of selected places become Thursday Hangouts. No tickets, no start times, no production, no host on shift. We put software on top of places that already exist and move people to them — no venue deal or permission required.
AI sources and selects the best, most suitable places for singles city by city — safety, suitability, footfall, neighbourhood behaviour. Supply scales without a sales team. The friction of meeting collapses.

Profiles only unlock when you're inside the venue — meet them here, not in the app.

You put your plans on your profile, activate for the day, and match with someone who wants to do the same thing. A match arrives with an immediate reason to meet — usually an activity-based date.
Discover → match → chat → make the plan → meet that day
We don't optimise for time in the app. We optimise for people leaving it — which is exactly what we've always stood for.

Events build density. Density improves Discovery. Discovery creates plans. Plans fill Hangouts. Hangouts bring people back next Thursday — and some of them buy a ticket.
Every category leader made a leap at the exact moment their first product was working. Not a pivot — the same mission, delivered on a bigger surface. That's the moment we're in.
Netflix
Discs by post → streaming. Same mission: watch what you want, at home.
Amazon
Books → everything, then infrastructure. Same mission: get it to you.
Uber
Black cars → the whole city moving. Same mission: press a button, go.
Airbnb
Air beds → belong anywhere. Same mission: stay in someone's world.
When people hear IRL, they think events. That's because we taught them to. IRL is so much bigger than events — and we should be the pioneers who define what it becomes.
The others can't innovate and lean into tech without their own stack. Hence the migration. Wasn't just Fatsoma fees.
Dating moved onto the phone. It's moving back off it. Thursday is building the infrastructure for connection that happens in the room you're standing in — first through your pocket, then through what you're wearing.
Bluetooth proximity, smart watches, 24/7. The moment two people who are open to meeting are in the same place, Thursday knows.
Phase 2 — 5 yearsWe believe wearables could replace apps for discovery. You'll simply see who's open to meeting, no phone, no swiping, no looking down. Whoever owns the intent layer underneath that owns dating.
Phones train the swipe. Beacons train the hello.
Proximity, intent and identity — built once, portable to any device.
150+ cities of real-world density before the hardware even ships.
This isn't events versus app. A bigger top of funnel sells our events out faster, feeds our host network, and gives us something to offer the enormous group of people who want to meet someone but will never buy a ticket.
monthly active users
Everyone single in the city, in one app, on one day. Match, chat and make plans to meet that day in every corner of the world.
potential locations
Bars, cafés, restaurants, hotels, parks and gyms become live meeting points in every neighbourhood in the world.
flagship cities
Operationally produced anchors. Built first, on purpose, to create brand, density and demand in major city in the world.
Events sell out faster
Every new user in a city is a warm buyer for the night we already run there
Grabbing more market
Hangouts offer a new way of using a dating app
Discover
Leans into what people already know but with a sense of urgency forcing action

We've spent years getting people off their phones and in front of each other. Events proved it. Hangouts and Discovery scale it. The mission doesn't change, we just take it to every street, every neighbourhood and every Thursday on earth.

Let's offer more, by connecting the world in person.
